A SPAN (Switched Port Analyzer) Port is a mechanism that monitors network traffic, functioning similarly to IDS (Intrusion Detection System) technology. It is implemented on network devices such as switches and access points to duplicate every network packet passing through a specified port and send it to a network monitoring connection on another switch port.

SPAN Port is commonly utilized for network appliances that require comprehensive monitoring of network traffic and can be likened to a port mirroring system.
