1.2.16. Integrations
1.2.16.1. Active Integrations
Active integration is data interchange between OpenNAC Enterprise and a third party. This integration occurs during bidirectional communications -different from one-way communications.

An example is the integration between OpenNAC Enterprise and the next generation firewall (NGFW). OpenNAC Enterprise collects and evaluates asset tags (attributes) and sends information so it can accept or deny network access. The response is then sent to NGFW which modifies its own policy configuration according to the OpenNAC Enterprise information accepting or denying the network access.
1.2.16.2. Passive Integrations
In Passive Integrations, OpenNAC Enterprise sends data to a third party or vice-versa. It occurs only as a one-way communication.

As an example is the way the ON Core send its logs information to a Secure Information and Event Management (SIEM) for different network purposes.
