4.4.1.7. Troubleshooting

As previously mentioned, the EndPoint Compliance module is applied in conjunction with the UNAC module. This way, compliance operations may be influenced by the configuration and functioning of the UNAC module.

Carefully review the following topics to see if they can solve your problem, in case you don’t find answers to your issues, check the UNAC troubleshooting section.

4.4.1.7.1. Tag Simulator

To confirm the tags are being well applied to the different endpoints, you can use the tag simulator tool. Navigate to ON Agent > Agent Payloads, and in the Data column you will find the tag icon.

When you click on this icon, the simulation will display the tags that the endpoint should have based on the rules configured in the ON Agent > Agent Configuration > Agent rules section.

This feature enables the user to verify whether the rule is correctly configured. In the event of a failure, it provides information on why the configuration is not successful.

4.4.1.7.2. User Device Profiling Simulator

To confirm the correct application of the EPT (Endpoint Type) tag, which is added through profiling expressions, navigate to the ON NAC > Profiling > User device profiling. Once you are on this page, click on the Simulate button.

A pop-up window will open, where you should filter by the user device you are searching for in the Search input.

Click on the Accept button to execute the simulation.

The example shows that the profiling rule with the most matches is the RASPBERRY rule, which will insert the E*PT_RASPBERRY* and DPA_2 tags into the user’s device. This provides an easy way to understand why the device matched a specific rule.
