Scenarios: VisibilityΒΆ
These scenarios enable realtime visibility of all assets connected to the corporate network. By choosing this module it is possible to deploy two different scenarios: There are active and passive collection methods and two different deployment architectures.
- Scenario Trap mode.
- Scenario Sensor mode.
- Scenario 802.1x mode.
Visibility Methods
The next table shows the available methods to gain network visibility using openNAC, the methods are source of information for openNAC, the methods are complementary, not exclusive

Visibility initiator
According with the visibility method, some asset information or other will be collected, for more visibility use several methods and combine them.

Visibility constraints
The constraints for any visibility method are show in the next table.

- Trap Mode
- 1. DEFINITION (What is it?)
- 2. MECHANISMS (How does it work?)
- 3. COLLECTED INFORMATION (What do we get?)
- 4. DASHBOARD (How do we display what we know?)
- 5. DEPLOYMENT (Do it yourself)
- 5.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAP MODE:
- 5.2 SCENARIO ARCHITECTURE
- 5.3 SETTINGS FOR TRAP MODE:
- 5.4 PROFILING:
- 5.5 TESTING:
- 5.6 TROUBLESHOOTING FOR TRAP MODE:
- Sensor Mode
- 1. DEFINITION (What is it?)
- 2. MECHANISMS (How does it work?)
- 3. COLLECTED INFORMATION (What do we collect?)
- 4. DASHBOARD (How do we display the information?)
- 5. DEPLOYMENT (Do it yourself)
- 5.1 REQUIREMENTS FOR Sensor MODE:
- 5.2 SCENARIO ARCHITECTURE
- 5.3 SENSOR MODE SETTINGS:
