MAC Vendors

Going to ON CMDB -> MAC Vendors as shown by the Step 1 we can search all the MAC Vendors, remember that the first three hexadecimal values belongs to the vendor and the last three hexadecimal values identify the device serial number as shown by the step 2.

You can see a list of manufacturers according to the mac identifier corresponding to the first 6 values of the mac address, this list is used by openNAC to make compliance or obtain information by making discovery among other functionalities.

With the button “Execute update” the list can be updated automatically, but this requires that openNAC have an internet connection.
