Configuration vars section allow to define default parameters.

This section allows to define parameters for network devices:

Is possible to assign a Brand type as shown by the step 1, Cisco, HP, Alcatel and many others are available.

Is possible to assign a model such as 2950, 4500, 6xxx as shown by the step 2

Sometimes openNAC required to disconnect the user, policy revaluation for instance needs to have a disconnection type, SNMP or COA are available to be used as shown by the Step 3

In case that SNMP is chosen, is possible to define its parameters, SNMP Read/Write communities can be set as shown by Step 4 and Step 5.

In case that COA is chosen, COA password and ports can be defined as shown by step 6 and Step 7

A connection method can be defined, Telnet (not recommended) and ssh (default and recommended) are available as shown by the Step 8.

Default credentials (User and password) can be set to be used to gain access to network devices as shown by the step 10.

Following with Network devices configuration is possible to set password to be used by SSH and Telnet connections.

Usually different privileges access are deployed for network devices access, privilege access or enable password (Cisco nomenclator) can easily set as shown by Step 13.

Other parameter that can be set in NetDev Tab allows to register in openNAC CMDB the network devices that are seeing through openNAC process, by default is set a tag to this network devices named ONC_AUTOLEARNED to identify which network devices have been auto learnt as shown by the Step 14, the mentioned network Device tag can be viewed at ON CMDB -> Tags -> Tags Network Devices
