openNAC includes a very flexible component named Tags, these tags can be used for many different proposes inside the product.
There are tags that automatically generated and others tags that needs to be created manually, it depends of the customer requirements, this is an advantage due to the product is fully customized in a really easy way.
Tags are described using a prefix name, for instance the product includes and generate many out of the box tags related with the assets and its context, as a referent we have for instance:
These tags are inserted in the user devices to improve and mantain updated the user device information (Open ports, DNS Queries, OS version and so on). The next image shows some tags inserted in one user device:
