Active Integrations

This kind of integration in where data is interchanged between openNAC and third party and some actions are taken, active integration occurs when bidirectional communications exists when there are more than one way communications.

As an example is the integration between openNAC and NGFW, openNAC collects and evaluate assets tags (attributes) and send information to accept or deny network access, the action to take is sent to NGFW which modifying its own policy configuration according with openNAC information accepting or denying the network access.

Passive Integrations

This kind of integration in where data send from openNAC to third party or vice-versa, passive integration occurs when just one way communication exits.

As an example is the way in openNAC send its logs information to a SIEM for different network purposes.
