5.2.1.4. VPN Gateway Monitoring

We define and strongly recommend to have a monitoring process in place for each Role (Sensor, Core, Analytics) in any productive environment.

We classify and define different monitoring methods as:

  • Logs where the system resources monitors hardware performance and its status.

  • Status availability where those are checked from outside.

You can find the logs of the system resources in Logs. The system resources logged are:

  • VPN Gateway Log viewer

  • Module Log viewer

  • Apache Log viewer

  • Other Log viewer

You can find the status of the system resources in Status. The system resources status are:

  • iptables: Status of configued rules of iptables service.

  • NTP Peers: Status of NTP (Network Time Protocol) peers.

  • Mail Queue: VPN Gateway node mail queue status.
