6.1.3. Agent Updates

OpenNAC Agent versions can be uploaded to the ON Core periodically and you can automate its update process as explained in the Agent update section.

The update process is also related to certain conditions:

Details about Agent updates

• The Agent is updated when the minimum version received from a payload is higher than the current one.

• To facilitate updates, the Agent checks if a user is logged in. If no user is logged in, the update attempt is postponed until the next payload.

• If an error occurs during the update process, another attempt will be made with the next payload after a minimum of 30 minutes (configurable in the service configuration file).

• When an update starts, a desktop notification is triggered for the logged-in user.

• After finishing the update, the UI is reopened, and a desktop notification is sent to indicate that the update has been completed.
