3.1.6.7. MAC Vendors

In the MAC Vendors tab, we can search all the MAC Vendors from the different manufacturers. Remember that the first three hexadecimal values belong to the vendor and the last three hexadecimal values identify the device serial number.

You can see a list of manufacturers according to the MAC identifier corresponding to the first 6 values of the mac address. This list is used by OpenNAC Enterprise to make compliance or obtain information by making discovery among other functionalities.

We can also add custom MAC vendors by clicking on the Add new button.

If we want to see a list of the custom MAC vendors that we have registered, we can click the View only custom button.

With the Execute update button, the list can be updated automatically. This action requires that OpenNAC Enterprise has an internet connection since we will consult an external database to obtain data on new updates in the list of manufacturers.
