1.2.13. CMDB

A configuration management database (CMDB) is a database that contains all relevant information about the hardware and software components used by OpenNAC Enterprise. It also contains the relationships between those components. The CMDB provides a complete and organized view of configuration data.

As explained before, the OpenNAC Core includes an internal CMDB which can be accessible from the administration portal.

In ON CMDB we can see the information regarding all the objects considered in any OpenNAC configuration. For more operational information review ON CMDB.

There are many other subcomponents such as Security profiles or User Data sources. These components can be used by other components like the policy engine after registering them in ON CMDB.
