Welcome to the 1.2.3-2 OpenNAC Enterprise release.
In this release, our primary emphasis has been on bug fixes and stability to provide a smoother user experience.
Additionally, users can appreciate several enhancements to Agent functionalities, ensuring a more reliable and improved performance.
1.5.3.1. OpenNAC improvements
This section describes all changes that affect the OpenNAC solution.
1.5.3.1.1. ON Core
These are the changes in this release that affect the ON Core component.
1.5.3.1.1.1. Bugs fixed
In this release, we have addressed and resolved a memory corruption bug in the dhcp-helper-reader. See the DHCP concept section for more information about this OpenNAC service.
In this version, Agent Payloads will now exclusively include ARP events if the SCANNED_NETWORKS are included, ensuring that only assets within those specified networks are considered. See the Agent payloads section for more information.
Resolved an issue regarding the Soluble Agent consulting System Updates. Now, when there is no System Updates, the ISS_SYSTEM_UPDATES_UNKNOWN tag is added to the device.
Resolved an issue where DBwrite rollbacks were incomplete, specifically addressing the handling of tagid_ or tag_. Now, BDwrite rollbacks clean all tags associated with userdev.
This version fixed the ironChipSync plugin double execution when connecting to the VPN.
In the previous release, an Agent payload without NETWORKS section would trigger an error. This release addresses this issue.
You will see that the NetConf Scheduler and the NetBackup Scheduler sections have incorporated the tags button to the normal filter drop-down selector. See the NetConf and NetBackup section for more information.
The automatic creation of CMDB Networks now triggers a warning for empty fields.
1.5.3.1.2. ON Agent
These are the changes in this release that affect the ON Agent component. For more information about the Agent application, see the OpenNAC Agent section. There you will find information about data exchange with the OpenNAC Server, utilization of OSQueries, communication protocols, and more.
1.5.3.1.2.1. Functionalities
This Agent version incorporates the latest OSQuery release, upgrading to OSQuery 5.10.2.
The notification of VPN disconnection to the server has been enhanced for a seamless user experience in the Agent. From this version, those Agent disconnections are now instantaneous, and users will be notified of this event.
Manually disconnecting the VPN with the auto-connect function disabled now suspends the connection until the user chooses to reconnect.
This Agent version has enhanced VPN notifications for SAML use cases. The user now receives immediate prompts to open the VPN window for both Connection Loss (“Lost connection to VPN”) and Reminders to connect (“You are disconnected from the secure network”).
Now, if the server returns an invalid or null response, the authentication status will not be deleted.
We have improved the content of the “SCRIPTEXECUTIONRESULTS”, “SCANNED_NETWORKS”, and “PENDING_SYSTEM_UPDATES” payload sections. Now, when no information has been triggered, these fields display “null”.
We have made updates to reduce excessive logs during gather processes making logs more concise and user-friendly.
From this Agent version, the service will restart in case of downtime.
OSQuery now identifies logged-in users with admin permissions on the endpoint.
We have improved the process query functionality to provide additional details about the current user executing the process, facilitating the retrieval of the specific username associated with the running process.
1.5.3.1.2.2. Bugs fixed
This Agent version, fixed the Windows Update issue related to configurations with multiple IP addresses.
MacOS Agents locking issue was addressed in this version. Now, lock events are detected successfully.
In this version, we have addressed the delay of reconnection after unlocking the computer in MacOS.
A Network Renewal bug has been addressed in this version.
This Agent version addresses and resolves issues related to OSQuery failures and inaccurate data, ensuring improved performance.
This version addresses USB data collection failures on MacOS. It has been fixed so payloads can now display empty data or null results.
Resolved the issue of unnecessary VPN disconnection attempts when no interface is active.
We have resolved an issue with the “Send payload when detecting selected events” flag in the Agent profiles > Service configuration section. Previously, the event enabling flag was incorrectly set to false after rebooting the device post-installation.
Resolved the connection loss on MacOS after unlocking the screen. This issue occurred specifically following system suspension. Users will no longer experience connection issues with the browser.
Fixed service unloading issue on Linux platform occurring after updating the Agent.
1.5.3.2. Documentation changes
All the documentation changes are described in this section.
The Healthchecks section now lists the primary services checks with possible solutions for resolving warnings and critical states. See the Platform Administration > Healthchecks section for more information.
The Deployment and Basic configuration section now features instructions for Elevate users. In the Elevate - OPCC section, you can find the deployment steps for the On-Premises Communication Component (OPCC).
