1.3.4. ON Agent

The OpenNAC Agent is a software that is installed in end devices and servers for monitoring and hardware/software inventory of the device. It is available in the installable version called Multiplatform, and in the Soluble version, a lightweight version designed for cases where it is sufficient to run the agent once without the need for installation.

The ON Agent plays a vital role in the monitoring and management of device posture within the ON Core component. Through the Compliance and 2SRA modules, it empowers administrators to ensure devices meet the required security standards. Additionally, within the 2SRA module, the ON Agent facilitates the establishment of secure tunnels for remote access, enhancing network security.

It is an optional component for the implementation of the Visibility module and required for the Compliance and the Secure Remote Access 2SRA modules.

The ON Agent enables device inventory management, OS patch monitoring, security analysis, and deployed application tracking. Additionally, it establishes VPN tunnels and validates credentials using 2FA for secure remote access. A vital component for maintaining network security and efficiency.
