Components

openNAC includes three main roles when is deployed.

openNAC core

The main component of the solution which includes critical component such as:

Policy Engine Is the brain of the solution and all the use case are implemented using this component.

openNAC CMDB is the memory of the solution where all the configuration, assets and parametrization is saved.

Administration portal is the control panel for the solution.

User portal is a portal where Guest or BYOD network access requests are managed.

openNAC core can be deploy both in Cloud or in on-premise way.

openNAC Analytics

Is other mandatory component which includes critical components such as:

Search Engine: this is based on elastic search engine which easily allows to search information generated and collected by openNAC components.

Dashboards and reports: out of the box the solution includes a set of dashboard and reports based on common technical information collected. Is possible to create and generate your own customized dashboards.

openNAC Analytics: can be deploy both in Cloud or in on-premise way.

openNAC Sensor

Is optional component which provide advance visibility, historical network behavior tracking. openNAC Sensor decode protocols and track all the network activities where is deployed, a common deployment method is using a port span. For that reason openNAC sensor is deployed closed to the customer traffic and can be deployed only on-premise.
